My Experience:

My wife and I had narrowed our choices down to two homes as we prepared to make on offer on one of them. Both homes were beautiful, well maintained, and comparable in price. One was an old Victorian house, updated throughout, on the river, and in an ideal location. The other home was newer, in a large neighborhood, and on a golf course. I wanted to be on the river.

As soon as we found out we would be relocating to Toledo, my dream was to have a house on the river. We had looked at the only two available. One was the right size, but needed more work than we were willing to do. The other, was “move in ready”, but was too small.  I felt my dream slip away. My wife, knowing how much I wanted to be on the river, tried to work through how we could make the small house work.

Nancy understood that we have two teenage boys, two dogs, a telecommuter working out of the house, family within a couple hours that would want a place to sleep, and a need for space to entertain. As we discussed the two options, Nancy finally said, “Keith, the house on the river is just too small.” She was right. She was right because she made the effort to know us as people, as a family looking for a place to call home. Because of that, we bought the perfect home for us.

Sincerely,
